Unique & rare antique moroccan tea tray, all handmade & hand carved in Fes, Morocco. This tray was bought in 1947 from a jewish old man in Semarrine, the old souk of Fes, this tray was for a wedding gift, unfortunately the wedding was cancelled because the french occupation took the groom to war by force and was deployed overseas. The bride left at her parent's house for almost 6 years not knowing when her love was gonna come back or was he never gonna come back......
In early 1954, the groom showed up & got married the first week he got home before getting an order from the french army again....fortunately he never went to the army.
Anyhow, this tray was bought again in 1947 and was given as a gift for this wedding in 1954.....i was hoping to get more from this wedding story but unfortunately the lady i bought this tray from, stopped and couldn't say more about this marriage, she was all concerned about how many items i was gonna buy from her.....she was like "stop asking me questions" anyhow it was great talking to her :)
